Captain is our newest dog to our program. We were fortunate to have him donated to us by Moss Creek Doodles where he had been used as a stud dog. They contacted us because they thought, as we learned, he has such a big heart and is happy just being around people. He especially likes “little” people.
Captain has been a blessing to our program. He has a super disposition, always ready to greet everyone with his tail up and wagging.
Captain, a.k.a. Pogo because we are working on his impulse control when he meets people, enjoys working with the elementary children in reading where he can sit for 30 minutes listening to a good book.
Captain participated in summer camp where he soon became a fan favorite. He was able to learn some of his basic cues and proved to be a fast learner.
The 2019-20 school year will be Captain’s first year working with the teens. I’m certain he will enjoy it as much as he has his time in Department of Juvenile Justice facilities.
Captain is a big fan of toys, doggie treats and just hanging out for some petting and attention.
